The SAP II program is designed for adults who have been assessed with a chemical abuse diagnosis and the consequences of their use has moved beyond a single incident of impairment. The purpose of this program is to provide an in-depth education on the use of mood-altering chemicals from a multidimensional perspective. Cognitive-behavioral coping skills are used and feature motivational interviewing, modeling and role playing along with the change model and chemical use history. This program will use community based resources, video presentations, and interactive assignments that will increase participants awareness of how chemical use has affected past and present decisions. Additionally, this program will teach participants about chemical dependency and the continuum of care.
